Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech

  • Airport pickup and transfer to riad in the medina
  • Located 2 minutes walk from famous Jemaa El Fna square
  • Afternoon to explore the medina on your own
  • Evening visit to Jemaa El Fna (full of street performers, narrators, dancers, snake charmers)
  • Overnight in riad

Day 2: Marrakech → High Atlas → Telouat Kasbah → Ait Benhaddou → Ouarzazate

  • Morning pickup at 8:30 AM in private 4×4 vehicle
  • Drive through High Atlas Mountains
  • Stop at Tizi Ntichka Pass (2,260m—highest point)
  • Scenic viewpoints and Berber village stops for photos
  • Visit Telouat Kasbah with free time for lunch
  • Drive through Ounila Valley with adobe houses and mountain villages
  • Visit Ait Benhaddou UNESCO World Heritage Site (famous filming location: Gladiator, The Mummy, Sahara)
  • Arrive in Ouarzazate (“Gate of the Desert”)
  • Dinner and overnight in hotel

Day 3: Ouarzazate → Draa Valley → Merzouga Desert

  • Breakfast and depart towards Draa Valley
  • See Morocco’s longest river and spectacular kasbahs
  • Photo stops and enjoy Draa Valley scenery
  • Free time for lunch in Nkob or Alnif
  • Two-hour drive to Merzouga dunes
  • Switch to camel transportation into the heart of the desert
  • Arrive at Berber tent camp (traditional camel-hair tents like nomad families)
  • Camel trek around camp
  • Dinner and overnight in Berber tent under starry sky

Day 4: Merzouga Desert - Full Desert Day

  • Early sunrise camel trek to top of dune for spectacular sunrise viewing
  • Return to camp for hearty breakfast
  • Explore Erg Chebbi—great sandy desert with Big Dune of Morocco (250m high)
  • Stop at Tissardmin Oasis (fossil quarries)
  • Visit nomad settlements and learn about their lifestyle
  • Viewpoint for panoramic Erg Chebbi views
  • Stop at Kamilia Village (originally from Mali) for spiritual Gnawa music concert and tea
  • Afternoon visit to Merzouga town
  • Free time to enjoy sunset from dunes or hotel

Day 5: Merzouga → Rissani Market → Erfoud → Todra Gorges → Dades Valley

  • Breakfast and depart desert
  • Visit Rissani market (market days: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday)
  • Visit Erfoud fossil marble manufactures
  • Drive through Touroug and Tinjdad palm groves
  • Arrive at Todra Gorges (stunning 300m+ cliffs carved by river)
  • Free time for lunch and short walk through gorges
  • Afternoon drive to Dades Valley (also called Figs Valley)
  • Stop at “Monkey Legs” viewpoint
  • Dinner and overnight in Dades Gorges

Day 6: Dades Valley → Skoura Palm Groves → Ouarzazate → Marrakech

  • Visit Roses Valley and Skoura palm grove (one of the biggest in Morocco)
